I uploaded one of the first digital stories completed at Asher Public School as part of our World War II project. Asher Public School invited 4 WWII vets to our school and 1 Korean/Vietnam vet on December 6, 2007. The students personally interviewed these gentlemen using Olympus Digital recorders which were then later turned into digital stories using the techniques that I learned at the first COV workshop. Students at Asher Public School are currently working on completing digital stories using the techniques I learned by attending the first Celebrating Oklahoma Voices workshop conducted by Dr. Dana Owens and Wesley Fryer. In order to accomplish this, we invited four WWII vets and one Korean/Vietnam vet to spend the day with our students. Three of the four vets served in the South Pacific and one in Europe.
