Microphones to use with video cameras

I need a mike to use with a video camera because the built in mike on the camera doesn't produce a good enough sound for student videos. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I recently bought a Nady wireless lapel mic for about $150 that I've been very happy with for webcasting, and it would work for video recording as well. Here's a post where I shared some info and links on it.
