Following the wonderful OTA conference this week, I've received some inquiries about how people can take/participate in an upcoming COV workshop. Here is info I just emailed to an Oklahoma teacher which may answer this question for others also.
--- email text follows ---
We would love to have you attend an upcoming COV workshop this spring, summer or fall. The current schedule of workshops is on:
http://covproject.pbwiki.com/workshops2009
We have two models for workshops now:
1- Grant supplemented workshops for individual educators (cost $150 each)
2- Organizationally provided workshops hosted by schools (cost $520 each for educators from other schools/districts who also attend)
The best way to stay in touch when slots are available and sign-ups are online is to join our learning community (which is free) on:

At this point we are planning one grant supplemented workshop for Jul 29-31 this summer at the Oklahoma Heritage Association in Oklahoma City, which will cost $150 per person. The remaining 19 workshops we are scheduling for the year will be the organizational model (which do not have grant funds to offset the per-participant costs) so the costs for those will be $520 per person. That is the cost for teachers OUTSIDE the hosting district who also attend, when slots are available. The funding model for our organizatonal workshops is a $3000 base cost plus $400 per participant for educators from the hosting school/district, with a minimum of 10 required and a maximum of 25. Both of these workshops follow the same 2.5 day model and include the digital backpack of equipment + free software + training.
More info about our project is available on the FAQ section of our project wiki:

Please do join our learning community so you can get updates when our application goes online for the July workshop, as well as when openings are available for the other workshop dates. Let me know if I can answer further questions. Corie Baker at OHA is going to be handling many of the administrative support roles for COV as well, and she can answer questions too.
